Custom Container Homes was first realised in 2017 when we packed up our belongings, hired a storage shed, bought a 4×4 and a caravan and spent 12 months travelling around Australia with our two children. 

It was a few months into our trip that we had an epiphany.. We didn’t really need all the s tuff we owned. Why did we have a big mortgage, 5 bedrooms, 3 living rooms and more stuff than we new what to do with? We weren’t just getting by in the caravan, we were having the time of our lives stress and obligation free.

We had become so caught up in the materialism of society and when we came to realise that we didn’t need all that stuff and the expenses of phone bills, electricity, water, rates and so on, that was when my container home idea started drawing designs in my head.
